Candle Care & Safety
Before you light your Liberty & Litz candle please ensure you have read and understood the safety instructions on the jar, box and below.
By not following the candle care instructions, over burning or not trimming the wicks you could be compromising the safety of your candle.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep out of reach from children and pets.
- Never burn near drafts, open windows, vents, fans or any flammable material.
- All packaging must be removed prior to lighting candle.
- Always ensure your wick is trimmed to approximately 7mm (1/4inch) before every burn. Before lighting ensure the wicks are upright and always light both wicks at every burn. This will allow for the best burn possible, reduce smoking and mushrooming and extend the life of your candle.
- Burn your candle long enough so that the entire top layer of wax liquefies and reaches the edge of the glass each time. This will help to preventing tunnelling.
- Do not burn for longer then 4hrs at a time or when less than 12mm of wax remains at the bottom of the jar.
- Only burn your candle on a stable, flat heat-resistant surface. While burning the glass may become hot.
- If you plan on burning more than 1 candle together ensure that you leave at least 10cm between them.
- Never let the candle flame touch the side of the jar. If inside of jar blackens when you are burning your candle, extinguish candle wait until jar is cool and wax solidifies and then clean with dry paper towel.
- Always ensure your wax pool is clear of debris. Do not dispose of matches, wick trimmings or other materials into the candle/wax pool. Do not add anything additional to the candle.
- Do not move a burning candle as jar will be hot. Extinguish the candle and ensure jar is cool and wax has solidified before moving.
- Never use water to extinguish your candle. Use a candle snuffer or gentle blow on flame until extinguished.
- Store covered to avoid dust in jar and always store in a cool dry place below 25 degrees and away from direct sunlight.
- Do not use candle if glass is broken, cracked or damaged in any way.
- The burn time of each candle will vary depending on the conditions of the environment it is burned in, burning habits, fragrance etc.
